The private coaching method
Learn it. Build it. Track it.
Precise teaching, purposeful progression and clear evidence of development. A coaching process built around the individual athlete.
- 01
Assess
Understand the athlete. Establish an objective baseline with age- and sport-appropriate movement and performance tests.
- 02
Teach
Learn the setup, position and execution of each movement. Understand why it matters, with direct feedback from Chris.
- 03
Develop
Build strength, speed and power with intentional doses, safe progression and a plan that respects the season.
- 04
Track
Review performance data, reassess movement and adjust the plan. Give athletes ownership of their progress.
Technical mastery
Teaching is
the difference.
Chris slows down where it matters. Each movement has a purpose, and the athlete learns to recognize the positions and decisions that make it work.
Setup & bracing
Foot position, grip, trunk brace and intent are set before the first repetition — the foundation every loaded movement depends on.
Range & control
Own the full, appropriate range of motion with control through the hardest positions before load increases.
Execution & intent
Coached cues, immediate feedback and deliberate speed. Where appropriate on key barbell lifts, movement velocity can inform loading.
Understanding
Athletes learn why each exercise is in the plan — skill acquisition and ownership, not just compliance.
Evidence guides the plan
Progress you can
understand.
Objective performance data and thoughtful movement/asymmetry screens establish a starting point. Ongoing observations and appropriate retests help Chris adjust the training dose and priorities.
- Readiness, age and sport guide test selection
- Training adapts to in-season and off-season demands
- Progression emphasizes control and risk reduction
- Feedback connects effort to the next step
Training cannot eliminate injury risk or guarantee a particular result.

Where we can improve
- 01 Maximum-speed developmentSprint mechanics, appropriate distances and full recovery between fast efforts.
- 02 Hip mobility & side-to-side controlRight side scored lower on lunge and rotary stability — single-leg and trunk work, then reassess.
- 03 Strength foundation & recoveryReadiness averaged 5.0/10, so workload follows recovery, not just best-day output.

What we develop
Specific qualities.
Coached on purpose.
Acceleration
First-step mechanics, projection and arm action. 10- and 20-yard baselines where appropriate show whether it is improving.
Deceleration & change of direction
Braking, cutting and re-acceleration mechanics — how athletes stop and redirect under control.
Strength & unilateral control
Bilateral and single-leg strength, plus landing and force-absorption skill that sport constantly demands.
Power development
Jumps, throws and loaded explosive work sequenced only after positions are owned.
Readiness
Session-day check-ins on energy, soreness and schedule; the plan flexes rather than forcing a fixed workout.
Periodization
Progressive overload organized around sport, position and season — building off-season, maintaining in-season.
Not every athlete needs every test or tool. Chris selects what fits the athlete's age, sport and goals.
